Your stay at Footprints in Kleinmond begins with a personal welcome from Lindie or Maritz Laubscher. On arrival, one of them will personally meet you, show you to your room or self-catering unit, hand over your keys, and ensure you are comfortably settled in while answering any questions you may have. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is before 10:00, with luggage drop-off available for early arrivals and late departures.

We do not serve a sit-down breakfast, but every room and self-catering unit is elegantly appointed with a premium tea and coffee station. Guests can enjoy Nespresso coffee, ground coffee with a plunger, Jacobs instant coffee, rooibos and English tea, as well as bottled water, milk, and our delicious bran and seed rusks for a welcoming start to the day.

Yes, we gladly offer beautifully prepared takeaway Continental Breakfast Box for guests who would like a convenient and delicious start to the day. Each box includes a selection of fresh and indulgent breakfast treats, such as a muffin or croissant, fruit juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit, a snack, a little chocolate treat, and biltong or droëwors. Continental Breakfast Boxes are R150 per box and must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.

Yes – Lindie and Maritz Laubscher live on the property, which allows us to offer a more personal and attentive guest experience. While your privacy is always respected, we are nearby should you need anything during your stay – whether it is assistance, local recommendations, or simply the reassurance that someone is available if needed.

Yes, definitely. Footprints in Kleinmond can accommodate up to 23 guests, depending on your group’s preferred sleeping and bathroom arrangements:

  • Up to 23 guests if beds and bathrooms are shared where needed.
  • Up to 17 guests if no guests share a bed.
  • Up to 11 guests if every guest prefers a private room.
  • Up to 8 guests if every guest requires a private bathroom.

Our accommodation includes 11 rooms in total: three elegant en-suite rooms in the main house, Family Tides sleeping 5, and Ocean Oasis and Sandy Toes sleeping 6 each.

Although we are true animal lovers, guest pets are unfortunately not permitted at Footprints in Kleinmond. This helps us maintain a fresh, comfortable environment for all guests, including those with allergies or sensitivities. The only pet in residence is Bella – Lindie and Maritz’s friendly little Maltese, and undoubtedly our smallest on-site host.

Although loadshedding has not affected us here for well over a year, Footprints in Kleinmond is thoughtfully prepared should a temporary power interruption occur. In the event of loadshedding or a short outage, a portable power station can be provided within minutes to keep your TV and DStv running, while Wi-Fi remains uninterrupted. Portable lights are also available, and gas options are on hand for boiling water if needed.

Yes – Footprints in Kleinmond offers generous on-site parking for guests. Parking for Ocean Oasis and Sandy Toes is located behind gates, and if you are travelling with a trailer or motorcycle, we will gladly do our best to arrange secure gated parking where possible.

Footprints in Kleinmond is just a short two-minute walk from the Main Kleinmond Blue Flag Beach, with scenic seafront walkways only moments away. Our quiet coastal setting allows guests to enjoy easy access to the beach while still experiencing a peaceful and private stay.

Yes, each of our three self-catering units offers its own private braai facilities, allowing guests to enjoy the ease and comfort of a relaxed coastal stay. Guests staying in the three main-house rooms also have access to a large shared braai area, perfect for enjoying unhurried evenings at Footprints in Kleinmond.

Footprints in Kleinmond is conveniently situated approximately 86 km from Cape Town International Airport, or about an hour and fifteen minutes by car via the scenic R44. Hermanus is also within easy reach, at approximately 34 km away, making Footprints a wonderful base from which to explore the Cape Whale Coast.

Yes – Footprints in Kleinmond is ideally placed for the Southern Right Whale season, which runs from June to November along the Cape Whale Coast. From our seafront walkways you can often spot whales directly from shore, and we are just a short drive from the world-renowned land-based whale-watching cliffs in Hermanus and the calm waters of Walker Bay.

Winter is one of the most beautiful times to visit Kleinmond. You can watch Southern Right Whales from shore, walk the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve trails after the rains when fynbos is at its richest, visit the African Penguin colony at Stony Point in Betty’s Bay, explore Harold Porter National Botanical Garden’s waterfalls and amber pools, and enjoy cool-climate wines at Benguela Cove, Beaumont, and Wildekrans. Storm-watching from inside our cosy units is a guest favourite.

Yes – families are warmly welcomed. Family Tides is purpose-built for families and sleeps 5 in two private rondawel rooms with a kitchen and private braai facilities. Sandy Toes has no staircase, making it convenient for younger children and grandparents, and our quiet cul-de-sac setting just 150 metres from the Blue Flag Beach makes it easy to enjoy family beach days.

Yes – all rooms and self-catering units include uncapped Wi-Fi that stays on even during loadshedding, making Footprints in Kleinmond a comfortable choice for remote workers, writers’ retreats, and longer stays.

All three units share the same luxury finishes, premium coffee stations, private braai facilities, and uncapped Wi-Fi. Ocean Oasis (150 m²) sleeps 6 across three bedrooms with an immaculate ocean view and an indoor braai room. Sandy Toes (150 m²) also sleeps 6 across three bedrooms with an extended private garden and no staircase. Family Tides (62 m²) sleeps 5 in two charming rondawel rooms and is the cosiest, most family-focused option.

Sandy Toes and Family Tides have no staircases and are the most accessible of our units. We will gladly discuss your specific needs before booking – please contact Lindie or Maritz directly so we can recommend the most suitable space for you.
